An original pan background color key concept from the Don Bluth Studios animated film An American Tail (1986). The hand-painted concept features a mouse's perspective of a dining room, and was created at the studio during the film's development process. Don Bluth Productions uniquely used these concepts not only to develop the scene's color palette, style, and emotion, but also as storyboards to visualize the full story development. Measuring 3.75"x35.5" overall and with the image area measuring 3.5"x35.5", the background color key concept is in fine condition with minor edge wear from studio use and handling.
